We had the absolute pleasure of photographing Lindsay and Matt’s Wedding at the Pavilion at Pepper Plantation. Between the perfect fall weather, the lovely bride and groom, and a fun and engaging group of guests, this turned out to be one of our most favorite weddings to shoot.
The Pavilion at The Pepper Plantation is a fabulous wedding venue location in Charleston, SC! It is actually located just outside of Charleston in Awendaw, SC, just about a 25 minute drive from Downtown. Pepper Pavilion is located on the beautiful grounds of Pepper Plantation.
Lindsay and her bridesmaids got their makeup and hair done at the Cottage at Pepper Plantation. The Cottage is just a short walk away from the Pavilion, and has all of the amenities you need to get ready for your big day. The Cottage itself is adorable and we loved how the “Getting Ready” Portraits turned out!
After the girls got dressed and the guys arrived on location, Lindsay and Matt had their “First Look” under one of the beautiful oak trees right in front of the Cottage. I love when couples choose to do a “First Look” because it is always such a beautiful and emotional moment… all of us watching were wiping away tears!
Lindsay and Matt also had both their ceremony and reception at Pepper Plantation as well, which made it so easy for all their guests. Their ceremony was held on the back lawn, overlooking a beautiful lake. This location offered such a intimate and romantic backdrop for the ceremony, it was just perfect. And even though Lindsay and Matt had already seen each other at their “First Look”, it was still incredibly special and emotional when Lindsay walked down the isle with her father. Again, not a dry eye in the crowd!
After the ceremony and while we took some portraits with the bridal party and then with just Lindsay and Matt, cocktail hour was held on the wrap around deck at the Pavilion. We didn’t have to go far for some beautiful backdrops for the portraits, which is always a huge plus for photographers! It also was great for Lindsay and Matt because they were actually able to join their guests for some of the cocktail hour.
After cocktail hour was over, everybody simply moved inside for the reception. It was all so easy! The barn inspired Pavilion was decorated just perfectly by Lindsay. It was so warm and welcoming, and really allowed for a great gathering and party. Guests danced, ate, drank, and even roasted marshmallows in the outdoor fire place late into the evening. It was just a perfect night all around, for a perfect couple we just adore. Thanks again guys for sharing your most beautiful day with us!
